How can I tell if my “inching” or “de-clutch” is adjusted properly?

To be sure the inching system is working correctly, a pressure gauge must be installed in the forward and reverse pressure ports. When the inching system is activated the clutch pressure should drop to zero. When the system is deactivated the clutch pressure should return to normal clutch pressure. Depending on the system the inching/de-clutch can be mechanically, hydraulically, or electrically activated.

How does your Core Policy Work?

Every remanufactured transmission purchased from CIF is invoiced with a core charge. Upon return of the core, a core refund is issued. Subtracted from this refund is the replacement cost of non-serviceable components not part of the standard remanufacturing process.

CORE MUST BE RETURNED

My pump pressure is low and my transmission seems to be slipping, should I replace the charge pump?

Although low charge pump pressure is a good indication that a charge pump may be failing, there are several other things to be considered before jumping to that conclusion. The first thing to remember is that a pump creates FLOW. Resistance to that flow by a regulating valve, spring, or orifice creates PRESSURE. In order to have this flow and pressure, you must first have an adequate supply of oil and a way to create the needed resistance. Before condemning a pump, ask yourself the following:

1. Does it have oil?
2. Is it getting oil? Is it leaking somewhere it shouldn’t be? Sometimes getting back to basics will show you not only the failure but also the cause of the failure.

How do I tell if my transmission is slipping?

At full throttle, high engine rpm and low output speed indicates slipping transmission
low engine speed and low output speed indicate a low power or dragging clutch

How often should i change my transmission oil and filter?

Between 1000-2000 hrs depending on the application

Can a leaky torque seal be replaced without changing the entire transmissions?

We suggest against it depending on hours/application, a leaking torque seal can be a number of things, anywhere from a cooked seal, to a worn-out bearing or stator support, to a cracked impeller/cover. if a torque seal is leaking and the machine has a high amount of hours chances are the rest of the seals inside the transmission are also leaking internally causing lower pressure and reduced performance

What oil should I use?

Oil that meets or exceeds manufactures specifications
